Imagine a world where everyone has a real chance to reach their full potential. For so many in our immigrant community, that opportunity begins with organizations like New Immigrant Community Empowerment (NICE).
This cause is deeply personal to me. Over 40 years ago, my family immigrated to the United States in search of opportunity, stability, and a better future. Like so many immigrant families, they left behind everything familiar and worked tirelessly to build a new life for future generations. Their resilience, sacrifice, and determination shaped the opportunities I have today and continue to inspire the way I show up in my community.
As a daughter, a mother, and someone passionate about supporting immigrant communities, representation matters deeply to me. I want my daughters to grow up seeing that our stories, our cultures, and our communities belong in every space, including the starting line of the NYC Marathon. I’m running not only in honor of my family’s journey, but also for every immigrant family working hard to build a future filled with possibilities and sueños.
NICE helps create pathways for people to build skills, find stability, and move forward with confidence. Through job readiness, workplace development, and support in navigating U.S. systems, they empower immigrants to create opportunities for themselves and their families.
When you donate, you’re not just giving money, you’re investing in someone’s growth, their dreams, and their future. Every contribution helps open doors that might otherwise remain closed.
I’m proud to support this work, and I hope you’ll join me in making a meaningful impact.
