A MESSAGE FROM Help Me Reach My $4,000 Goal for Team for Kids
Hi everyone đź’›
Sean and I have had a tradition since moving to NYC—every year we go watch the NYC marathon and cheer as runners cross the finish line. It’s always been incredibly inspiring.
Last year, something really stood out to me. The runners weren’t just running for themselves—they were running to support meaningful causes. It got me thinking… I want to be part of that.
And since this year I turned 60 (yes, 60…!), I thought—why not do something big, a little bold, and definitely outside my comfort zone.
So, I’m running the NYC Marathon on November 1, 2026!
I’m proud to be running with Team for Kids, a program of New York Road Runners that helps bring free running and fitness programs to children of all ages and abilities. Through initiatives like Rising New York Road Runners, kids ages 2–18 are introduced to running in a fun, supportive way that builds confidence, encourages movement, and supports both their physical and academic growth.
These programs reach kids across New York City and nationwide—in schools, after-school programs, and community centers—removing barriers to participation and making sure every child has access to the benefits of being active. They also offer leadership opportunities, youth ambassador programs, inclusive programming for kids with disabilities (including wheelchair and prosthetic athletes), and summer camps designed to empower high school girls.
At its heart, this is about more than running. It’s about helping kids stay physically and mentally strong, while building lifelong skills, confidence, and community.
I’ve committed to raising $4,000 by October 7, and I would be so grateful for your support. Any donation—big or small—goes directly toward these programs and truly makes a difference.
Thank you for being part of this milestone journey with me. Training is officially underway—I just completed my first 8-mile run, and will increase my distance by one mile each week until I reach race day. Let’s just say… I’m feeling it! But every mile reminds me why I’m doing this. 💛
P.S. Your gift is 100% tax deductible! Even $10 or $20 makes a real difference—and truly adds up to help these kids!!
