We are advocates. We are lawyers. We are healers, helpers, fighters, and leaders. We are New York City’s street vendors and sex workers; survivors of interpersonal violence and seekers of asylum. We are the next generation of social justice leaders – and we are waiting for you to join us.
Since
1984 the UJC has been providing free, essential legal support to thousands of
NYers each year who can’t afford the help (from survivors of domestic violence,
to homeless families, LGBTQIA+ youth, to many more), while continually
mentoring the next generation of leaders in the fight for social justice. We
provide crucial direct legal services, systemic advocacy, community education,
and political organizing to empower marginalized communities and champion new
avenues for social justice.
