A MESSAGE FROM South Orange Rescue Squad

Since our founding in 1952, the all-volunteer members of the South Orange Rescue Squad have worked tirelessly to provide free ambulance treatment and transportation to South Orange, Maplewood, and the surrounding communities. Responding at all hours of the day and night, our members strive to provide immediate 911 response and no-cost medical treatment and transportation to our communities. Additionally, we teach First Aid and CPR to members of the community, provide EMS standby coverage at public events, and visit schools, camps, and daycares to teach children about safety, first aid and emergency medical services, all at no cost to residents.  We can only continue to provide these critical services through donations from people like you.

We at the South Orange Rescue Squad truly appreciate the generous support that we have received from residents in South Orange, Maplewood, and the surrounding communities throughout the past 71 years. Contributions from people like you have allowed us to establish an advanced fleet of ambulances equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, institute a progressive training protocol to remain current on live-saving procedures, and organize a lengthy roster of all-volunteer members who have helped save innumerable lives.

However, we need your help to continue serving our communities.

The Rescue Squad is staffed by volunteers and funded solely by contributions from the community. No member is compensated for their work, and we receive no taxpayer funding. We are currently on pace to answer over 2,000 calls this year, and our volunteers contribute over 30,000 on-duty hours every year. Each responding ambulance crew includes a minimum of two state-certified Emergency Medical Technicians who strive for greatness by continuously training to stay up to date on the most effective and current medical procedures. Our members dedicate many hours to our organization, and your donation would help them continue to provide free medical treatment and transportation to our communities.
