New Yorkers For Children was founded to help meet the needs of youth in foster care that the system could not provide. Across all of our programming, we ensure these young people receive the necessary academic, professional, and personal support services they need to thrive as independent adults. As the non-profit partner of ACS with strong ties to all of the foster care agencies, we have a deep understanding of the needs of the foster care population. Meanwhile, our independence allows youth to view NYFC as the “missing puzzle piece” in the system, fostering a safe space for developing close relationships and meeting young people where they are to help them discover who they want to be.
