For 133 years, Henry Street has listened to our community and acted with compassion and dedication to meet their most pressing needs. Established in 1893 as one of the nation’s first settlement houses, Henry Street Settlement’s mission is to open doors of opportunity for Lower East Side residents and other New Yorkers through social services, arts, and health care programs. Henry Street helps New Yorkers of all ages reach their full potential through innovative, inclusive, and high-impact programs and services. We operate 18 sites across the Lower East Side, reaching over 50,000 people annually through four program divisions: Education & Employment, Transitional & Supportive Housing, Health & Wellness, and Visual & Performing Arts.
