GallopNYC serves children with disabilities, veterans with PTS/D, survivors of domestic violence, first responders and older adults by providing hippotherapy, horseback riding lessons and non-mounted therapeutic engagement with horses. The physical strength gained from riding, the emotional resilience of overcoming obstacles and the neural pathways that develop and open up as a result of our programs foster greater independence and expand horizons for all in our community.
Through weekly horsemanship and riding sessions, our riders gain new skills in these areas and experience measurable improvements in life skills (i.e., developmental, physical, emotional, and/or social skills) that are transferable in their everyday lives. GallopNYC provides specialized programs for children and adults with disabilities as well as older adults in NYC, serving hundreds of riders weekly across three locations. Notably, nearly one-third of our riders self-identify as having autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Your support of our Marathon runners will help keep GallopNYC's programs accessible by funding the gap between lesson costs and what families can afford, and keeping our horses healthly.
Thank you for helping a GallopNYC rider benefit from our life changing programs!
