AWF provides 'Life Interrupted Grants' to young adult patients diagnosed with rare cancers, to ease their financial burden, so they can concentrate on healing.
The organization is volunteer based and we are passionate about what we do.
Facts
There are approximatly 90,000 young adults (16-39) diagnosed every year in the United States with cancer. In 20 years, survival rates have not improved for YA's battling cancer. There are limited resources for treatment & YA cancer patients have unique challenges. YA patients are caught between pediatric and adult care; in most cases the diagnosis is a rarer form of the disease.
