TO BUILD AND DONATE SPECIALLY ADAPTED CUSTOM HOMES NATIONWIDE FOR SEVERELY INJURED POST-9/11 VETERANS, TO ENABLE THEM TO REBUILD THEIR LIVES.
ABOUT HOMES FOR OUR TROOPS
Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) is a publicly funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives. Most of these Veterans have sustained injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives. Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents out of every dollar spent has gone directly to our program services for Veterans. HFOT builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live and continues its relationship with the Veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives. check out our 2026 psa: HFOT PSA
Participation Types & Fundraising Commitments:
All fundraising minimum commitments must be completed by October 1, 2026.
Guaranteed Entry (Need a bib) - $4,000.00
*Runners who join Team HFOT in a guaranteed entry spot have a fundraising commitment of $4,000.00.
*There is a $50 sign-up fee for Guaranteed Entry Participants to HFOT to secure your spot on our Team.
*You will be required to pay for your bib to TCS NYC Marathon through our specific link (to be provided).
Own Entry (Have a bib) - $1,000
*Runners who secure their own entry into the Marathon via Time Qualifying, Drawing, or being a Legacy Runner can join Team HFOT for a lower fundraising commitment of $1,000.
*Team HFOT does not provide entrance into the race for Own Entry Participants.
*There is a $0 sign-up fee for Own Entry participants.
Team HFOT's registration is a multi-step process to secure Guaranteed Entries, and these must be completed by noted deadlines in order to participate.
*After registering, pay $50 sign-up fee to secure your spot with Team HFOT - This link will be emailed to you separately.
*Review and sign our team waiver -This link be emailed to you separately and must be completed to finalize your registration.
*Register with the Marathon through our specific link (to be provided) and pay the registration fee (either $315/$255).
*Own Entry participants need to only complete the second bullet above. They do not need to re-register with the Marathon.
