Tarsha Jacobs is a native Floridian who moved to the Central Florida area to attend college and never left. She has been married for 32 years to a man who happily supports her thirst for adventure from the sidelines, has two amazing sons, two beautiful daughters in love and two sweet little grand dogs. Tarsha didn’t start running until the age of forty-two, but what began as a simple goal to finish her first 5K quickly became a life changing passion. At that race, which was her very first race ever, she met members of Black Girls RUN!, a moment that forever altered her path. Finding her community with the Black Girls RUN! Orlando chapter led to improving her health, experiencing an empowering sisterhood, and Tarsha making a commitment to a lifelong journey of movement and purpose. Through BGR Nation, Tarsha discovered her calling as a leader and advocate. She has since become a registered yoga teacher, a certified running coach, an ultramarathoner, and an Ironman athlete. She was honored to serve as a Black Girls RUN! Orlando Ambassador from 2018–2020 and is currently serving her second term, which began in 2024. As a woman business owner and endurance athlete, Tarsha is deeply passionate about helping women break through barriers— professionally and physically—whether in the boardroom or on the pavement. She is honored to represent Black Girls Run! At the New York City Marathon.
