As a family doctor, I spend my days caring for patients of all ages — but this November, I'm running the NYC Marathon to care for children in a different way!
I'm running for ☀️Project Sunshine☀️ a wonderful non-profit whose mission is to deliver the healing power of play to children with medical needs and their families through trained, dedicated volunteers.
As a physician I realize how much healing depends on more than medicine alone — it relies on joy, connection, and most of all, play!
☀️Project Sunshine☀️ brings exactly that to pediatric patients, turning hospital stays into moments of laughter and light, delivering free, research-backed play programs to over 265,000 children at 550 hospitals and medical centers!
Running 26.2 miles is hard. Lying in a hospital bed for weeks is harder! I'm lacing up with bright pink, orange, and yellow to raise funds so ☀️Project Sunshine☀️ can continue to bring love and play to the patients who need it most — and I'd love for you to be a part of this with me!🏃♀️💖
Sending love and light!
💖Shanti☀️
