A MESSAGE FROM Sarah Abell 2026 NYC Marathon x Team ADDF
Friends: On Sunday, November 1, I will proudly run my 10th New York City Marathon with Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation (team ADDF) in support of the organization's mission to rapidly accelerate the development of drugs to prevent, treat and cure Alzheimer's disease.
Over the next 18 weeks, I'll share my training progress as I log more than 700 miles to safely run 26.2 on Marathon Sunday. I’m incredibly honored to run with team ADDF and grateful to the Lauder family, the incredible scientists and global team for their tireless work to #endAlz.
I lucked into my first team ADDF marathon bib in 2017 with less than 60 days to train, and in the decade since, I've run more than 10,000 miles in every weather condition with one goal in mind: end Alzheimer’s and Dementia, the incredibly cruel disease that robbed our family of my beloved father in 2018 and continues to impact tens of millions of people and families around the world.
TOGETHER, we've also raised $124,051 in nine years with every single cent donated to research and funding the fight to #endAlz. With your help, my goal this year is to raise at least $5,949 to increase the total donation to $130,000... But wouldn't it be cool if we topped that?
Please consider joining me on this fundraising journey. Every dollar, every "hell yeah, you can do it!," every ounce of belief helps fuel the long training miles. I'm incredibly humbled by and endlessly appreciative of your love, cheerleading + support.
I'll see you out on the roads as I continue #runningforpops to #endalz.
With love, patience and more love, xo sarah
