I will be running the New York City Marathon on November 1st, 2026, for Release Recovery Foundation, a proud partner of Surfside, where I was given the opportunity to change my life. My life was saved and changed because of the scholarship funds I was fortunate enough to receive a little over seven years ago. That support gave me an opportunity I didn’t have at the time, and it helped me build a life I’m genuinely proud of today. The funds raised will go directly toward providing mental health and substance use treatment for individuals who wouldn’t have access to care.
Since then, I’ve become a Licensed Social Worker, a Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor, and a Level 2 CrossFit coach. I now get to support others both mentally and physically who are in the same place I once was.
Deciding to run this marathon wasn’t easy, but it was inspired by a friend who ran it last year and the chance to represent a cause that means a lot to me. One opportunity can truly change everything, and I’m living proof of that. The support I received played a huge role in where I am today, and this is a way to help pass that same opportunity on to someone else.
