Hello there! Thank you for taking the time to visit this page!
If you’re here, you probably know me and know that bitcoin is a big part of my life.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of my journey in bitcoin has been learning about some of the amazing people who have contributed to it, especially early on. One of those people was Hal Finney, an incredible human being who contributed to many of the open source internet tools we use today that promote human freedom. He tragically lost his life to ALS in 2014, and his family along with ALS Network set up the Running Bitcoin Challenge, a January running event that raises funds for ALS, in his honor. I’ve been participating in the challenge for several years, and this year, will be running the NYC Marathon in Hal’s memory and raising funds for ALS research through ALS One. I hope you’ll donate to their incredible team.
Every 90 minutes, someone is diagnosed with ALS, and in that same timeframe someone loses their battle with the disease. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that can affect anyone at any time. The average life expectancy after diagnosis is 2–5 years and there is currently no cure.
Funds raised for ALS ONE in partnership with ALS Network support critical ALS research and provide care resources and essential equipment for individuals living with ALS today.
Please consider donating in support of my marathon journey. No amount is too small.
You can also donate through your Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) or by mailing a check payable to ALS Network to:
