Hey all - Ryan here. In just a few months, on March 15th, I will be running in the 2026 New York City Half Marathon in support of Live4Evan, a nonprofit organization. This race isn’t just any event - it’s one of Live4Evan’s key fundraisers and continues to make a meaningful impact by helping the organization open new apartments for families in need.
Live4Evan provides temporary, affordable housing for families of children with congenital heart disease (CHD) who must travel to Boston for treatment. These families are facing one of the most difficult times in their lives, and Live4Evan helps ease their burden by ensuring they have a place to stay—close to the care their child needs.
The organization was founded in memory of Evan Girardi, who passed away from a heart arrhythmia during his senior year of college in 2010. Rather than let his story end there, Evan’s family and friends created Live4Evan to honor his legacy and support other families facing similar challenges.
Since opening its doors in 2016, Live4Evan has grown to operate seven apartments next to Boston Children’s Hospital, housing over 195 families for stays that often last two months or more. These homes offer comfort, stability, and relief from the financial and emotional stress of finding housing in the city.
Your support makes this possible. Every donation goes directly toward providing housing for families in need—and with each new apartment opened, even more families can stay close to their children during treatment.
Thank you for being part of this mission. I appreciate your support!
