A MESSAGE FROM Nathan's Fundraising Page
Hello!
My name is Nathan Phillips, and I am thrilled to once again join NYRR Team for Climate in fundraising to support the future of sports sustainability and NYRR's Net Zero goals. TFC strives for sports sustainability: protecting the environments we train and compete in to ensure future generations experience the same opportunities and community.
Growing up as a competitive swimmer, sports shaped my early years to the collegiate level. I experienced firsthand how essential healthy environments, strong communities, and resilient systems are to sports. Now racing again in 2026 reinforces my commitment to preserving the space where we explore, train, and compete, ensuring that athletes, all individuals, and future generations can equally appreciate and achieve their goals. Last year, I saw the challenges in training and fundraising, but more importantly, it was on race day that I felt the commitment and excitement not only in myself but in the fellow TFC runners as well, amongst the thousands of runners on that Sunday morning. Running through the streets of NYC in the TFC singlet reminded me that sports are more than just competition and achieving goals; they are also about protecting the foundation that makes athletics possible and accessible to all.
Every donation, no matter the amount, supports a future where athletes and the planet can thrive together, bringing communities closer and healthier. Every donation assists NYRR’s investment in carbon offsetting projects, such as improved forest management and carbon insetting projects, such as projects and products that reduce carbon emissions within NYRR’s events and operations- all of which aim to achieve NYRR's Net Zero goal by 2040!
