A MESSAGE FROM Morgan Steelman fundraising for the Fund for Public Health in NYC
I’m running the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon in support of the Fund for Public Health in NYC (FPHNYC)!
As a medical student, I’ve seen firsthand how chronic diseases and social determinants of health shape the lives of New Yorkers, especially in underserved communities like East Harlem, where I provide care at Mount Sinai’s student-run, physician-supervised free clinic. This experience has deepened my belief that health is not just about medical treatment. It's about access to healthy food, safe outdoor spaces, and preventive care.
That’s why I’m proud to run for FPHNYC. As the nonprofit partner to the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, FPHNYC is leading efforts to build a healthier, more equitable city. Their work spans everything from maternal health and youth mental health to climate change and COVID-19 recovery.
Your donation will directly support FPHNYC’s Chronic Disease Plan, a key part of HealthyNYC, the city’s initiative to increase life expectancy beyond 83 years by 2030. Funds raised will help expand access to nutritious food, health screenings, and opportunities for physical activity.
No donation is too small. Let’s make NYC a healthier place!!!
Click “Donate” to support my run and help me reach my fundraising goal of $3,500.
Thank you so much for being part of this mission.
