I am honored to be running the 2026 NYC marathon with team Answer the Call. I will be raising 4,500 dollars to support Answer the Call's mission, to provide financial assistance and support for the families of loved ones who have been killed in the line of duty.
I have witnessed the impacts of their support firsthand. My cousin Detective Brian Simonsen was tragically killed in the line of duty in 2019. He proudly served NYPD's 102nd precinct in Queens. After losing Brian, I saw the importance for families to have ongoing support. Through my cousin Leanne, Brian's wife, and my aunt Linda, his mom, I've witnessed both the heartbreak of their loss and the strength that comes from a community like Answer the Call who continues to care long after. I am running in memory of my cousin Brian - and in honor of my cousin Leanne and my aunt Linda - to represent the sacrifice Brian made in the city he loved.
