After my boyfriend’s motorcycle accident in March 2025, my life flipped upside down. All of my time and attention went to him, his recovery, his body, and his healing. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Becoming his caretaker wasn’t something I ever imagined when I had just started dating my hot, motorcycle riding neighbor… But its a role I fully embraced. As Gabriel recovered, I was constantly inspired by his grit, determination, and resilience. Watching him slowly regain strength and eventually walk again felt nothing short of a miracle. It also made me deeply grateful for my own able body. When it became clear he didn’t “need” me in the same way anymore, I realized how much I had been neglecting myself. My mind and body were aching for me to pay attention. Then November hit and NYC Marathon videos were everywhere and almost every single one made me cry. There was something about watching people push themselves past 26.2 miles that lit me up. Seeing the support from family, friends, and even strangers felt once-in-a-lifetime special. That’s when it clicked. The New York City Marathon was a year away, and I decided to dedicate that time to myself and work toward something I once thought was physically and mentally impossible. So here I am, raising money to run this race. It’s one of the boldest acts of self love and commitment I’ve ever made. I’m proud to be running with Team for Kids at the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon. Team for Kids is a community of runners raising funds to support New York Road Runners youth and community programs, helping kids build confidence and healthy habits through running.
