Over the past seven years with the Islanders, I've had the opportunity to see firsthand the significance this organization brings to the Long Island and Metro New York communities it serves. Through the Islanders Children's Foundation, the organization has raised more than $21 million to support local youth, education, hockey, families and community organizations. From providing scholarships and creating opportunities for young people to supporting adaptive hockey, schools and families facing difficult circumstances, the Foundation is making a tangible difference in the communities we call home. As someone who has been a proud part of the Islanders organization for over seven years, I don't just see the Foundation's work from a distance—I get to see the impact it has on our community firsthand. Running my sixth marathon and fourth NYC Marathon gives me the opportunity to take on a personal challenge while helping raise awareness and support for a cause that I'm incredibly proud to represent.
