Hi everyone!! As many of you may know, the light of my life is my little sister, Dylan Rae. What many of you may not know is that Dylan Rae was born with Cystic Fibrosis.
CF is a progressive, inherited genetic disorder that causes damage to the lungs, digestive system, and other organs. It results from a mutated gene that causes body secretions (mucus, sweat, digestive juices) to become thick and sticky, leading to blockages, infections, and chronic inflammation, primarily in the airways and pancreas.
To date Dylan Rae has been healthy and has not had any major flare ups, but the reality with CF is that it may progress as she gets older, and we can never really know how it’ll develop.
