This year, I am running the NYC Marathon in honor of someone who means so much to me and my family, Mary Ruchalski.
Mary was my wife’s cousin, and part of an amazing family I’ve known since I was a child. She fought a very brave battle against rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive pediatric cancer. Mary was incredibly kind, always thinking of others and whenever I was with her, she always had a smile on her face. Mary passed away in 2018, but the way she lived continues to inspire me every day.
The Mary Ruchalski Foundation continues to shine her light by raising awareness for pediatric cancer, supporting research, and helping other children and families going through the unimaginable. Since it began, the foundation has donated over $1 million to fund research for pediatric cancer and provide assistance to children and families in need.
Mary was an incredible person and it was a blessing to call her family. It means the world to run in Mary’s honor. Every donation, no matter the amount, will help kids and families fighting pediatric cancer.
Thank you for the support.
