A MESSAGE FROM Jocelyn’s Brain Aneurysm Fundraiser
Hi everyone, my name is Jocelyn and I survived a brain aneurysm rupture in 2023. God gave me a second chance at life by allowing me to survive something traumatic. The recovery process was challenging and I lived in constant fear thinking I would experience another rupture, however, I remained hopeful and regained control of my life by doing some of the things I love; running! Being able to move my body and run is something I never take for granted. My perspective on life has changed and believe it or not, my rupture was a blessing in disguise. Most people find that statement absurd, however, my rupture allowed me to truly remain present and enjoy life's beauty.
All funds go directly to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation (BAF) NOT to me. This fundraiser will help families that have lost a loved one by providing grief support, spreading awareness, and fund further research!
Here are some quick facts and how staying informed saves lives:
- 1 in 50 people have an unruptured aneurysm (equivalent to about 6.5 million people in the United States).
- About 30,000 people/year in the U.S. have experienced a rupture and unfortunately half do not survive.
- Women are more likely than men to have a brain aneurysm (3:2).
- Risk factors include: High blood pressure, Substance use (specifically cocaine), Traumatic head injury, Smoking, Family history, and People over the age of 40.
Please join me as I strive to change these statistics by helping the BAF continue their mission to spread awareness and save lives. Brain aneurysms are beatable and treatable if detected early. Awareness can truly save lives!
Thank you again for your support and may God pay it forward!
***Reminder that all funds go directly to the BAF and NOT me (I have to pay separately for travel/hotel expenses). If funds are not raised by 10/2026, I will be charged the difference. ***
