Hey there! I'm Jess, and I'm currently living with a severe case of the Running Bug. When I signed up for the NYC Marathon for 2024, I was convinced it would be my last 26.2. However, I was blown away by the energy of the city and, before I even crossed the finish line, I decided to set my sights on that six-star World Major Marathon Medal. Here's my trajectory: Chicago ('23) --> NYC ('24) --> Berlin ('25) + NYC round 2 ('25) --> Tokyo ('26) --> London ('26) --> Boston ('27, the race is on Dave's birthday, so we're both shooting to run!) After missing my goal time in NYC last year by 32 seconds, I decided I need to come back for a round 3 redemption run through the five boroughs. It also just so happens to be the 50th anniversary of the 5-borough race; the original NYC marathon route was fully contained within Central Park! And I am thrilled to be running my third NYC Marathon for the same charity I've run the last two: Shoe4Africa. This organization has been working tirelessly to build the first pediatric cancer hospital in sub-Saharan Africa (population: over 1 billion!), where 90% of children diagnosed with cancer don't survive due to the lack of access to appropriate care. This hospital will change that, providing care, saving lives, and giving these kids a fighting chance. Will you join me in this life-changing effort?
