A MESSAGE FROM Running as Myself, Where I Became Myself
Thank you for being here and supporting my run with Point of Pride. 

This isn't just a marathon for me. It's something really personal. I started my transition in New York. It's where I began hormones and had top surgery. Other parts of my journey happened later in LA, but NY is where I first really became myself. 

So, getting to go back and run the marathon there, as myself, feels really full circle in a way that's hard to explain. 

As a trans person, I know how much access to affirming care and support can matter, and how hard it can be to get.

Point of Pride is doing work that actually changes people's lives in a real, tangible way. Being able to run for something like that means a lot to me, and your support makes you part of it, too. 

I don't take that support lightly. Thank you for being in this with me.

    All Gas, No Brakes!! Watching my son Jay prepare to run the 2026 New York City Marathon fills me with incredible pride. I had the privilege of running the NYC Marathon myself back in the early 2000’s and it remains one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. To now stand on the sidelines and cheer him on as he takes on this amazing challenge is truly special. Jay has already completed the Los Angeles Marathon twice, showing tremendous dedication, perseverance, and heart. Now he’s running not only for himself, but to support the important work of Point of Pride.
