A MESSAGE FROM Heather's Fundraising Page
I said I'd only run once. I lied β but for a really good reason.
I'm running the 2026 NYC Marathon to raise $4,000 for the Urban Justice Center, which provides free legal services to New Yorkers facing homelessness, intimate partner violence, discrimination, and more. In 2025, UJC served 9,500+ New Yorkers, recovered $1.6 million for clients, and closed over 4,000 cases.

As a movement lawyer, I've long admired how the Urban Justice Center (UJC) fights for the most marginalized New Yorkers. I have witnessed firsthand UJC fighting tirelessly for street vendors across the city by providing legal assistance, Know Your Rights Information, and advocacy on increasing the number of street vending permits. I am running the NYC marathon with Team UJC because everyone deserves access to justice, regardless of their income.
