When my mom ran her first marathon, my dad snuck in halfway and finished it with her. When I ran my first marathon, my siblings did the same and finished with me (see picture).
During those 26.2 miles when your body is pushed to its limit, I've learned that I perform my best when I know my loved ones are cheering me on, and when the cause is bigger than just myself.
I'm running this marathon to honor those whom we've lost over the past few years: my dad, Fern, Pepe, Dee, Josh, Katie, Jenner, Grant and Dre.
I'm also running for Nyaka, an organization doing groundbreaking work to support children and their caretakers in Uganda.
I would really appreciate any support you can provide. You will not only help me cross the finish line, but also give me a reason to train every day leading up to the marathon. <3
