A MESSAGE FROM Andrew's Fundraising Page
Dear potential donors,
I will be running in the New York City Marathon this year on November 6th! It's my first marathon and I’m so grateful to have been given the opportunity to run for team Life Without Lupus to raise money for the Lupus Research Alliance. Here is some background about lupus and the foundation:
Lupus is a chronic, debilitating, autoimmune disease that is the leading cause of stroke, kidney, and premature cardiovascular disease in young women. 90% of the 1.5 million Americans who suffer with lupus are women, primarily between the ages of 15 and 44. The Lupus Research Alliance is the country's preeminent nonprofit organization serving the lupus community and, with a donation, you will be joining the Lupus Research Alliance in their fight to eradicate the disease.
This cause is near and dear to my heart. My girlfriend, Chelle, has lupus and amazes me every day by facing the constantly-changing nature of her illness with strength, determination, and positivity, all the while with a smile on her face. She's the strongest person I know - both inside and out - and I'm raising money to support her and the other lupus warriors out there who battle through this unpredictable disease on a daily basis.
Please consider donating so I can hit my goal of $5,000.00 before the race! No donation is too small and anything you can contribute is greatly appreciated.
Respectfully,
Andrew Lichtenauer
