A MESSAGE FROM Dylan’s Fundraising Page
I'm very excited to be running the 2026 NYC Marathon on the IronMatt team! I will be running to support #TaubStrong in honor of my friend Casey Taub, who passed away from brain cancer in 2017.
Casey and I went to camp together for many years. We always talked about various topics like history, movies and TV, and especially, comic books. He was an incredibly friendly kid and seemed to know everyone at camp. During his treatment, he occasionally visited us at camp and would drive around in a golf cart so he could say hi to people around the grounds. I was his driver on one of these occasions, but we weren't able to get very far. He stopped to greet nearly everyone we passed.
Leading up to his last visit, my friends and I started a fundraiser for him. We created the very first #TaubStrong t-shirts and sold them to the camp staff to help the Taub family with chemo expenses. After Casey passed, I decided to continue with helping kids affected by cancer in his honor. I was a counselor at Sunrise Day Camp in Long Island for the following three years and served as one of the Sunrise Walks Event Chairs in 2019. I also ran the 2025 NYC Half Marathon for the National Brain Tumor Society in his memory.
Raising money and awareness for pediatric cancer and brain tumors has been very important to me, and I'm honored to be running on the IronMatt team. Please consider donating and thank you for your support!
