A MESSAGE FROM Mettler
Hi Friends & Family - I’m very excited to have the opportunity to run the 2022 NYC Marathon this November for the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation - who’s mission is to rapidly accelerate the development of drugs to prevent, treat, and cure Alzheimer’s disease.
As you may know, Alzheimer’s disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the US, and it is the only top 10 cause of death that cannot be treated or even slowed down. ADDF is designed to help investigators and early biotech firms move important research through the expensive and challenging research process by providing funding to leading scientists who are conducting the most promising, innovative Alzheimer’s drug research worldwide.
After losing my grandmother in 2020 to the cruel disease, and experiencing the pain of watching someone so physically-healthy battle the neurodegenerative illness that impacted her memory, thinking, and behavioral skills, I have wanted to help fight to find a cure on behalf of the millions of people living with and fighting Alzheimer’s today, along with their struggling families and friends.
