A MESSAGE FROM Dan's NYC Marathon Fundraising Page
As a lifelong tennis player, I started hobby running nearly 10 years ago. After running more than 10 half-marathons and 60-mile team relays, this "hobby" eventually led to setting a personal goal of completing a marathon before I turned 40. While I was unable to complete this goal due to family circumstances, it never came off the top of my personal goal list.
This spring, I was offered a charity bib to run the 2024 New York City Marathon from one of the Arbor Day Foundation's non-profit tree planting partners, the Bronx River Alliance. As part of the charity bib, I will be raising more than $4,000 to support tree planting and restoration around New York City... a truly important cause for cities with high population densities made worse by urban heat islands.
For those of you who choose to support: thank you for supporting me throughout my life in more ways than I can count, for running alongside me during my journey (both literally and figuratively), for recognizing the importance of tree planting in forests and communities around the world, and for helping fulfill a lifelong goal.
