I'm honored and thrilled to be running with Team NYLAG at the New York Marathon!
NYLAG's mission is to use the power of the law to help New Yorkers in need combat social and economic injustice. NYLAG addresses emerging and urgent legal needs with comprehensive, free civil legal services, impact litigation, policy advocacy, and community education. NYLAG provides a critical lifeline to New Yorkers facing a broad range of legal needs- from immigration to housing law, veterans benefits to family law. Funds raised by Team NYLAG will contribute to help make justice attainable for those whose lives and livelihood depend on it. NYLAG serves over 90,000 people each year, including unaccompanied immigrant children facing deportation, survivors of domestic violence seeking safety for their family, elderly New Yorkers facing eviction, and many, many more. Through its partnership with WilmerHale, I have had the amazing opportunity to participate in many of NYLAG's legal clinics and see firsthand the difference they make for so many deserving individuals and their families.
In times of economic uncertainty, the most vulnerable members of our society suffer most acutely. NYLAG is on the front lines giving impoverished and disenfranchised individuals access to critical legal services. NYLAG deserves your support. To that end, to further underscore my commitment to NYLAG and its mission (in addition to committing these old bones to their first marathon) and to reward your generosity, if we reach my fundraising goal of $10,000, I will personally donate $5,000 to the campaign.
