HERE WE GO AGAIN! I am running the NYC Half Marathon for the third year in a row on March 16th to support the New York Marine Rescue Center (NYMRC). The NYMRC is based in Riverhead, NY and is a rescue and rehabilitation organization that promotes marine conservation. They are the only organization in NY State authorized to rescue, rehab and research sick and stranded sea turtles and seals with an actual rehabilitation hospital. I have been involved with NYMRC since 2016 and have served on its Board of Directors. In 2022, I ran the NYC Marathon in 2022 for the NYMRC and our team of 6 raised over $35k for this small organization and in 2023 members of that same team ran the 2023 NYC Half Marathon raising ~$13k. During the 2022/2023 cold stun sea turtle season, the NYMRC team (which just happens to be all women), responded to over 90 sea turtles and is currently rehabilitating 48 sea turtles while also preparing for the seal pup season that happens every each from January through May in NY. The cost to rehabilitate just one seal or sea turtle is approximately $10,000. I would appreciate your support and donation to help me meet my goal and support Team Turtle as we run for NYMRC to save seals and endangered sea turtles! Thank you for your consideration!
