The short story is that my brother Kevin lost his battle with the disease of addiction on July 7th, 2012 and it changed my world. He was 30.
At that same time, a close friend of mine was battling the same disease, but fortunately to a better outcome.
Both battles with addiction took place largely in private, with feelings of shame and helplessness. They should not have.
Zac has now been sober 10 years as of August 30th.
Along the way, Zac and Justin Gurland formed Release Recovery to provide the support and community which was not easily found 10 years ago.
I'm running so that more of our family and friends can access the help they need, free from the stigma which has long been associated with addiction.
I’d love your continued support in any way that works for you. Share the love, spread the word on recovery, compassion, community and family which is the core of Release Recovery
