A MESSAGE FROM Emily Cohen
Hi, I’m Emily Cohen! I’m originally from New York but currently living out in San Francisco—and this November, I’ll be running my first (and maybe only!) marathon in my hometown: the NYC Marathon.
I’m running in support of Girls Inc. of New York City, an incredible organization that empowers girls to be strong, smart, and bold. They provide mentorship, education, and leadership programs to over 10,000 girls across the city, helping them build confidence and unlock their potential.
At every stage of my life, I’ve been lucky to be surrounded by strong, brilliant women lifting each other up. From programs like Girls Who Code in school to incredible mentors in the workplace, having female role models has shaped who I am today. Not everyone has that. That’s why organizations like Girls Inc are important—they help fill that gap.
So I’m running 26.2 miles (!!!) as part of a personal recovery goal from an injury, and to raise money for this amazing cause. I’d be so grateful for your support—whether that’s donating, sending good vibes, or adding a song to my race day playlist so I can think of you while I run 💖
