A MESSAGE FROM Kennys NYC Marathon Fundraiser
I'm truly fortunate to be one of the repeat runners this year. Last year I originally set out to fundraise in memory of my dad, my brothers best friend and my father-in-law.
My mother-in-law was so excited for me. She was my first donation back in April. While training for the marathon my mother-in-law was diagnosed while here spending the summer with us.
I immediately added her and her story to my fundraising page. She was rushed to the hospital the night before the marathon while I was in NYC picking up my bib. She wouldn't let me defer. She got to take a photo with the medal and I got to tell her about my day. She was so proud of me. She unfortunately passed in my childhood bedroom on November 13th.
My father never saw me run, neither did my father-in-law or my brothers best friend. But the mom's were there for the beginning.
This year my focus remains the same. I am supporting the Elixir Fund in the memory of my loved ones.
