It's Here! Marathon Weekend!
It's here! The weekend starts tomorrow for us! Though training has not gone the way we anticipated (BOOO IT Band Syndrome/Runner's Knee) we are going with a positive mind and to soak it all in! I am in incredible awe at all the support I have received along the way. Thank you so much! It has been quite the experience as those who know me well know that I do not like to ask for anything. You all ROCK!!!!

26.2! That's the number of miles in a marathon. I can easily think of 26 people in my life with a rare disease. Some of them are doing well because they have a treatment, some do not have a treatment, and some are still waiting for a diagnosis. NORD helps patients and families no matter where they are in this journey. Your $26.20 (or $262.00 :-) ) can make a difference!

Getting closer to Marathon Day!
Where has the time gone! Our running journey continues. Training is officially underway at week four and we are enjoying the run. I've had to add in physical therapy for an uncooperative IT band but it is healing and I'm back on the pavement.

Muddy Mini Complete! Countdown begins!
Rob and I ran the Muddy Mini, a Toledo half marathon, On June 18. This race marked our four week countdown to officially starting our marathon training. Right after, we had a short lemonade and zebra cake sale during our neighborhood garage sale. This brought us $139! Our daughter contributed by playing her violin to help encourage visitors. This money will be added to Rob's fundraising.

Please support my fundraising efforts for the 2022 TCS New York City Marathon in November. I will be running with Running for Rare to bring awareness to rare diseases. As you know, my training in genetic counseling has given me the opportunity to work with many individuals with Rare Diseases.  Even with insurance, the cost to families is high and life long.  Please donate to help me reach my goal, but more importantly, to help patients meet their goal-live their best life.
