A MESSAGE FROM Lisa Schneider - Running NY For First Candle
It's time to run NY again! I always knew my marathon days were not over, but wasn't sure when the next one would be. After 6 years off, the time is now.
2024 is all about supporting First Candle. First Candle's mission to end Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and other sleep-related infant deaths while providing bereavement support to families who have experienced a loss. As the mileage increases each week, and the training runs get tougher in the coming months, it's the families who have lost a child that I will keep close as I push through the tough hills and added miles. Nothing I experience on the road could ever compare to what they fight through every day.

I was introduced to this organization through Alison Jacobson, CEO of First Candle and a fellow Wilton mom whom I have known for over 20 years. Alison lost her first child to SIDS and has made it her mission to "save our babies."
