A MESSAGE FROM Nina's NYC Marathon Fundraiser
I cannot wait to run my first marathon with such an amazing organization, the Propionic Acidemia Foundation (PAF)!!!
Propionic Acidemia is a rare disorder caused by a faulty gene - children with PA can't process certain proteins and fats, leading to persistent and intense health problems, such as severe developmental and cognitive delays, brain ammonia, strokes, comas, and heart atrophies. While there are currently no treatments or cures for the disorder, PAF is dedicated to supporting the researchers/physicians who are searching for ways to mitigate the disease and even develop a cure.
I am so inspired by the strength and perseverance of the families and community affected by PA - I feel so lucky to be running alongside my close friends, Sophia Kolodzinksi and Emma Lewis, and with the PAF Marathon team!!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION and I'm gearing up for 26.2!!!
xoxoxo,
Nina
