A MESSAGE FROM Briana
This past December I read news that an old friend and someone who you could meet once and remember forever, had passed away. She died tragically in a murder suicide at the hands of her husband and leaves behind a 3 year old. I share this because while I wasn’t as close to Christina as some I loved following along with her life, career and running accomplishments on social media. Christina was a VERY skilled runner, she had completed 4 of the 7 World Marathon Majors. Her passing ignited a new spark in me to find a piece of my old self. I messaged my old dear friend who was my connecting piece to Christina and we decided to run a marathon in her honor.
I will be running the New York City Marathon on November 1, 2026 - my 4th marathon but my first after kids and my first at age 40! It has been challenging and invigorating to reconnect to my passion for running. I run because I know we moms can do hard things, I run because I know how strong Christina was, I run because I want to help raise money for victims of domestic violence.
🏃♀️ I'm running the TCS New York City Marathon to support New Destiny — an organization that has spent over 30 years creating safe, affordable homes for survivors of domestic violence. Last year alone, they served more than 2,500 adults and children impacted by domestic violence. Every mile I run represents a family working toward stability and a fresh start. I will post a link as I accept donations to help New Destiny continue this lifesaving work. Your support means the world — to me and to the families who benefit. 🏠✨
