A MESSAGE FROM Katie runs a marathon
Run a marathon? That sounds crazy! So, why am I doing this? I’m doing this for Allied Services--an organization held close to my heart for as long as I can remember…BUT I need your help!
Allied was my mother’s first full-time job after years of being a stay at home mom/working part-time jobs to support our family. It was a job that she loved and one in which she excelled. Years later, after her retirement, when she needed physical therapy after a major knee replacement—Allied was there for her. Then again, when she was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia, and she needed more extensive therapies—physical, occupational, speech—Allied was there. Allied was always there for her…for us…always.
Allied Services makes miracles happen every day--in rehab, helping people regain health and independence after an injury; in improving the quality of life for people living with Parkinson’s or recovering from a stroke; in empowering children to overcome a learning disability and so much more. Throughout my journey I will be sharing with you stories of how Allied has impacted the lives of those near and dear to me, my family and friends.
I have set myself two goals for this journey -- to run 26.2 miles and to raise $5000 for Allied Services. I commit to completing these miles but I need YOUR help to reach my $5000 goal. Every donation will make a difference, every donation will inch me closer to my goal…every single one. And, for every $30 donation, you are eligible to receive an official Ryan's Run 12 shirt that you can wear to show your team spirit & help spread the word!
From the bottom of my heart to the tips of my running shoes—THANK YOU! Thank you for supporting me and for supporting WNEP's Ryan's Run!
