Hi I am Shawn, an amateur athelete who loves a challenge and helping people make a a positive impact. I have lived my life through sports and team work, learning how to face challenges with passion. Nothing beats the benefits of endurance training and radical sports. Some of my favorite sports are : Group Running, biking , skiing, kitesurfing , and swimming.
This year, I’m taking on an exciting new challenge—running my very first marathon to raise funds for Nyaka, a nonprofit organization in Uganda that I was introduced to through a close friend who has been deeply involved for years. Hearing their stories and witnessing their passion inspired me to join Team Nyaka 2025 and run the NYC Marathon in support of this incredible cause. Nyaka was founded in 2001 by Twesigye Jackson Kaguri in response to the HIV/AIDS crisis that devastated his home village. What began as a small school has grown into a powerful, holistic movement - providing education, healthcare, clean water, and essential resources to orphaned and vulnerable children, as well as a remarkable network of over 23,000 grandmothers raising more than 92,000 children. Nyaka’s impact is not just life-changing, it’s community-transforming.
The NYC Marathon is the largest marathon in the world, with over 50,000 runners and millions of spectators lining the streets of all five boroughs. It’s a day filled with energy, unity, and determination and I’m proud to be running it with a purpose. What’s most amazing is how far your support goes: even small donations can have a big impact in Uganda. Just $100 can help a grandmother start a business, send a child to school, or provide clean water to a household. Your generosity fuels real, lasting change. Thank you for being part of this journey with me, I’m truly grateful for your support.
We would love for you to join our initiative to support Nyaka and families in need in Uganda. This race is not about me, but rest assured with your support together we can take your contribution all the way to the finish line. Together we can make a difference in the lives of people just like you and me.
