A MESSAGE FROM Sam
This year I was offered a spot in the New York City Marathon, and I decided to run it for the Dravet Syndrome Foundation.
A mom from my daughter’s soccer team works with the foundation because her son has Dravet syndrome. I’m not sharing their story — that’s theirs — but being around another mom navigating something so heavy really put things into perspective for me. When the opportunity came up to fundraise and run, I felt like it was a small but meaningful way to show up.
Dravet syndrome is a rare and severe form of epilepsy that starts in infancy and is often resistant to medication.
Families dealing with it are managing constant medical challenges most of us can’t imagine.
I’m a working single mom and I feel truly honored to run and bring awareness and funding to this charity.
If you’re able to donate, thank you — truly. I have a fundraising goal of $6,000- every dollar goes toward research and support for families who need it. And if donating isn’t in the cards, sharing this page or cheering me on means just as much.
Thanks for being here and for supporting this cause with me.
