I am thrilled to tell you that I am training for the New York City Marathon as a member of the Target ALS team. I will soon complete my 12 weeks of training in preparation for the race on Sunday, November 5. I hope you will consider sponsoring my participation in this race and, by doing so, help out an organization that I am passionate about!
Founded in 2013 by former New York City Deputy Mayor and CEO of Sidewalk Labs, Dan Doctoroff with support from Bloomberg Philanthropies, Target ALS is a non-profit foundation focused on fostering collaboration to accelerate ALS drug discovery and development. Target ALS has revolutionized ALS research through its landmark Innovation Ecosystem model and, in just seven years, Target ALS’s approach has led to some of the first potentially viable treatments for ALS since the disease was identified in 1869.
I have committed to raise at least $5,000 to support Target ALS and I ask you to consider joining me in this effort. Your donation will support its innovative model, empower researchers through collaboration, and help advance a radically different approach to drug discovery breakthroughs.
Based on U.S. population studies, a little over 5,000 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with ALS each year. (That's 15 new cases a day.) ALS has affected loved ones of all of us, including my dear friend, Dan. I am grateful for your support and consideration – both as a participant and as an advocate for Target ALS.
