9/12/25 - A big thank you to everyone who's contributed so far. When I first applied to run with Bras for Girls, I told them that I thought I could realistically raise about $7,500 so my goal has been updated for the final time to shoot for that A-Goal!
While the start of my training has had a few hiccups (aka: I am clumsy) I've been enjoying this meaty part of the cycle. It is fun to get out there and to feel my progress. I distinctly remember a run on January 1st when everything felt hard and now, 9 months later, I can run 5 miles without hesitation to start my day. I can feel my dedication paying off and I'm getting excited as we get closer to raceday!!!
7/3/25 - I reached my fundraising minimum of $5,000 a few days ago, so I have adjusted my goal up to $6,000! Let's do this!
My Story - I have been participating in sport for as long as I can remember and I completed my first half marathon in 2007! But before that, my first love was basketball - playing H-O-R-S-E. with my uncle in the driveway or practicing dribbling and shots on my own. I distinctly remember in 5th grade when I went shopping for my first sports bra. Back then, sports bras were cotton and some elastic and my little sister, proud as can be, patted me on the back while checking out and proclaimed, “this is my sister’s first sports bra!” I was mortified! But that bra, a simple purchase, kept me feeling confident in playing the sports I loved. I found track & field in middle and high school, and in college, I fell in love with the sport of rowing. I competed for 4 years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison on the varsity rowing team. There I really learned to love the process of training and since have run a few marathons and ultras and many half marathons. I fell in love with the New York City Marathon in 2018 while spectating and have been hoping to run it since. I am thrilled to be running with Bras for Girls this year and raising money to get more girls into sports bras and keep them in sport as well!
Please donate to help me reach my $5,000 goal! No amount is too small.
