A MESSAGE FROM Sierra's page for Camp Korey & NYC Marathon!
I am thrilled to announce that I am running in the TCS New York City Marathon to raise funds for Camp Korey. This incredible organization honors the courage, strength, and determination of children living with life-altering medical conditions and their families by providing them with transformational experiences in a fun, safe camp environment with specialized medical support. Your donation helps provide campers with accessible, adaptive year-round programs, always 100% free to campers.
I have always loved working with kids and being active. From my early days as a summer swim team coach and swim lesson instructor in high school to volunteering at Swim Across America and serving as a summer camp counselor for the swim team at Penn State, I have always been passionate about making a difference in children's lives. Seeing the joy on kids' faces when they learn something new or make a new friend is priceless.
Growing up, I attended local camps where I made lifelong friends and learned valuable lessons. One of my most memorable experiences was at the summer swim camp at Penn State, where I eventually earned a spot on the D1 swim team and competed for all four years of college. These camp experiences have profoundly shaped my life, leading me to embrace triathlon and compete in several half Ironman races and two full Ironman races, including the prestigious Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.
Summer camp and sports have played a huge role in my life, and I am honored to have the opportunity to give back and provide these experiences to kids through Camp Korey. Every child deserves the chance to make wonderful memories and friendships, and your support can make this possible. Thank you for helping me support this amazing cause!
