A MESSAGE FROM Jared’s Fundraising Page
I’m running the New York City Marathon in support of The Floating Hospital, a charity whose mission immediately resonated with me because of its unwavering commitment to providing healthcare to those who need it most—regardless of their ability to pay. What excites me most is that this isn’t just about medicine; it’s about dignity, access, and meeting families where they are, especially women and children living in shelters or domestic violence safe houses. Knowing that one in seven New York City public school children is experiencing homelessness puts into perspective how critical this work truly is.
I want to support this cause because healthcare should never be a privilege—it’s a basic human need. The Floating Hospital doesn’t just treat illness; it provides stability, education, and hope during some of the most uncertain times in these families’ lives. That’s something I deeply believe in. While I may not have lived this exact experience, I connect strongly to the idea that everyone deserves a fair chance at health and well-being, no matter their circumstances.
As I prepare for this race, I’m not just training for a personal goal—I’m running to raise awareness and support for families who rely on organizations like The Floating Hospital every day. My goal is to share their story in a way that’s real and impactful, helping others understand the difference we can make together and inspiring them to be part of that impact.
