A MESSAGE FROM Gabby's NYC Half Marathon Fundraising Page
Hello world! My name is Gabby Royal and I am a hybrid athlete and trainer based in Brooklyn, NY. I am newly diagnosed at age 35 with ovarian cancer, specifically Mucinous Ovarian Carcinoma, a rare subtype. I am here as a runner, a cancer fighter in-treatment, and keeping my body in motion to use running as a testament to keep going!
I am proud to run the 2026 NYC Half Marathon to represent Tell Every Amazing Lady® ("TEAL"), an organization that offers women’s health and wellness services, including public awareness and education of the signs, symptoms and risk factors of ovarian cancer. I am going into my second surgery, and run, walk, or crawl, I am determined to cross the finish line in honor of other cancer survivors, fighters, and for those women who may be struggling silently. Each mile I run is for my community. Each mile completed is to honor our stories of hope.
TEAL is a truly incredible organization and deeply impactful. Their team provides support to those like myself impacted by the disease and raises critical funds for research in order to find a screening test and a cure!
