A MESSAGE FROM Nadira's Miles with Meaning
This year I decided to push myself mentally and physically by running my first marathon, and there is no marathon that can top the NYC marathon! This marathon is in memory of my best friend Nicole, who we lost too soon in a hiking accident.
Nicole was the kind of person who lit up a room- kind, adventurous and always cheering others on. We loved being active and would talk about running the NYC marathon together one day. Losing her changed me in ways I am still discovering, but one thing I know for sure is: I want to honor her memory by doing something that pushes me, something that gives back, and something that brings people together.
I am raising funds for Bras for Girls, an incredible organization that supports young girls staying active in sports and their daily lives. By providing, high quality sports bras and breast development education booklets to girls in need, they encourage girls to participate in physical activity and to feel comfortable in their bodies.
Every donation, no matter the size means the world. It's fuel for my training, inspiration on the hard day, and most importantly support for a cause that's close to my heart.
