Hi friends, in 2024 I will run my 11th New York City Marathon, and 9th fundraising for a charity that is near and dear to my heart. Narcolepsy Network is a patient advocacy organization that exists to support, educate, and advocate for people with Narcolepsy and Idiopathic Hypersomnia—two closely related rare sleep disorders.
I got involved with Narcolepsy Network around 10 years ago, after starting a support group here in New York. For the past 8 years, I’ve been proud to serve on the organization’s board—it’s been an honor to volunteer for an organization that has touched so many people’s lives. I can tell you without hesitation (and hyperbole) that my time at Narcolepsy Network has been a life-changing experience. Many, many other people have told me the same thing. I’m incredibly proud of the work that our organization has done over the last 37 years, and your support will help ensure that we can continue to execute on our mission.
This is our 6th year as an Official Charity Partner, and our 32 runners have collectively raised over $180,000 for the organization. That’s an incredible amount of support, and I want to thank you (and everyone else) who has contributed to our campaigns.
Narcolepsy Network is the only member-governed advocacy organization in the Narcolepsy / IH space. We run an Annual Conference, host virtual support groups, and help people start their own support groups. We share educational information, host online webinars, and share information about clinical research through our email newsletters. You can share your story, read other patient stories, and get involved in a variety of ways.
Above all, Narcolepsy Network brings people together. That is the bread and butter of what we do—we connect people in real life and online, and work tirelessly to make the lives or people with Narcolepsy and IH better.
Please feel free to share with your friends, family, and community members.
Thank you so much,
Keith Harper
